It is a common misconception that eyelid surgery is reserved for older patients. In reality, traits like under-eye bags can be present since childhood, just as they were for our 36-year-old patient. Over time, these anatomical features create a persistently tired and heavy appearance that does not reflect how you feel inside.
During her initial consultation, we identified several factors dulling her face’s natural vitality: pronounced under-eye bags, dark circles, heavy upper eyelid skin that hooded the outer corners of her eyes, and an overall loss of facial volume, particularly in the temples and the midface area.
To achieve a harmonious and beautifully natural result, we opted for a combined surgical approach. An upper blepharoplasty was performed to remove the excess skin, with the incision carefully hidden inside the natural eyelid crease. This completely opened up her eyes and eliminated the lateral hooding effect.
Simultaneously, we performed a lower blepharoplasty, placing the incision just beneath the lash line to remove the under-eye bags seamlessly. To complete the rejuvenation process, we harvested a small amount of the patient’s own fat (lipofilling) to restore the lost volume in her temples and the midface “G-point.” This structural support ensures a perfect, smooth transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek.
Just two months post-surgery, the transformation is remarkable. Her face radiates joy, energy, and youthfulness. The healing process has been so smooth that the surgical wounds are nearly non-existent, allowing her to happily wear makeup—including her favorite eyeliner—once again. Most importantly, while her face looks incredibly refreshed and plump, the fundamental character of her gaze remains entirely unchanged.
