Chronic swelling of the upper and lower eyelids

Swelling of the upper and lower eyelids, but these aren’t natural swellings. What could have happened? I recognized it immediately: this is swelling caused by fluid retention. And what can cause it? Hyaluronic acid that has been there for years, injected over time by the patient’s aesthetic doctor through small injections.

At some point, the hyaluronic acid lost its molecular structure and attracted fluids, causing this swelling. How can this problem be resolved? First, the hyaluronic acid must be removed, and for this, hyaluronidase is used to treat the upper and lower eyelids. However, this revealed underlying issues: excess skin, fat pockets, and skin laxity. We addressed everything surgically with an upper and lower blepharoplasty, achieving a significant transformation in two steps.

It’s essential to identify the root cause and address the underlying problem.
