Help! I Can’t Close My Eye After Blepharoplasty

No, it’s not just a cosmetic issue. Look down—your eyelid doesn’t follow the eye and stays open. What happened?

I had a blepharoplasty procedure, and now I can’t close my eye. It hurts, it feels tight, and it stays open, especially at night. The conjunctiva dries out, it tears up, and it’s incredibly painful. At least one centimeter of skin is missing for the eye to open and close properly.

Here’s where I’ll separate the tissues. Right now, the eyelashes are attached to the eyebrow. If I do this, there’s no movement. I need to create space, separate these two structures, and prepare a skin graft to place between them.

How is the surgery going? Perfectly!

What has changed? First, I’m no longer in pain. Second, I no longer have headaches. Third, no more migraines, and my eye no longer tears up. Fourth, I sleep well. Fifth, I don’t need antidepressants anymore.

How happy are you with the surgery we performed?

I’m absolutely thrilled! I have no more problems closing my eye. None. I feel great, I sleep well, I no longer have headaches. I feel amazing, thank God.
