Tired of Feeling Tired: Erica’s Journey with Ptosis and Blepharoplasty

When eyelids become physically heavy, the discomfort extends far beyond aesthetics. Erica came to our clinic with a clear and frustrating complaint: a constant, heavy pressure in her eyes that left her feeling perpetually exhausted. This condition made it difficult for her to focus and carried a heavy psychological burden. The distress was so significant that she avoided taking pictures entirely, even on her wedding day.

Erica’s goal was straightforward but vital: she wanted to see herself differently and, above all, feel well. Upon evaluating her case, it became clear that restoring both the function and the youthfulness of her gaze required a comprehensive, combined surgical approach.

To address the actual drooping of the eyelid muscle, we performed an eyelid ptosis correction. This functional step was essential to properly “open” the eye, ensuring she no longer had to struggle or compensate just to see clearly. To further lighten the load on her eyes, we combined this with an upper blepharoplasty. Finally, to clean up the overall look and remove the shadows of fatigue, we performed a lower blepharoplasty.

Her recovery was remarkably smooth. Just ten days post-surgery, during the stitch removal—which Erica noted felt merely like pulling pressure rather than pain—she already felt a profound difference. Waking up in the morning, her eyes finally felt open.

One month after the surgery, the results speak for themselves. There is perfect symmetry in the opening of her upper eyelids, and the beautiful natural color of her eyes, which was previously hidden, is now fully visible. Erica’s innate beauty hasn’t changed; she simply looks naturally refreshed and no longer carries the weight of tired eyes.
